Italian Mixing Excellence

The new Castagner’s mixology line reveal a renewed attention to the world of mixology after the success of Casta grappa.

Castagner, a Family Business

The Castagner distillery is an example of Italian excellence, like the grappa it has produced since 1996. Over more than twenty years, it has established itself as one of the biggest and innovative companies of the industry, anticipating trends with pioneering strategic decisions and relying on a valuable formula: keeping the distillery under the family’s control.

The founder, Roberto Castagner, is now joined by his children Silvia, Giulia and Giovanni, and his grandson Carlo, who have spread their responsibilities over the key functions, sharing passion and ideas. «We have debunked the role of grappa as an end-of-meal drink, transforming it into a noble, elegant and modern spirit», explains Giulia Castagner, the Sales and Marketing Manager of the Veneto-based distillery.

In 2017 she kicked-off the new mixology project by studying the concept and design of Casta, the grappa created for mixing. «Obtained from the skins of Glera grapes, a Prosecco grape variety, stripped of pips and pedicel, and distilled five times to retain only the most fruity and floral aromas, Casta proves to be extremely pure and versatile».

3 New Products for Mixologists

Gin Vitae, an Italian dry gin with infused vine leaf; Bitter Castagner, infused with radicchio di Treviso PGI; Castagner Vermouth, with Glera grapes, the Prosecco grape variety.

Thus, following its own process of evolution and interpreting the signals of the market, the company has backed Casta with a full, 100% Made in Italy mixology line. Each product is completely made in house and pays tribute to Castagner’s bond with the grape and its territory.

Starting with Gin Vitae, a dry Italian gin created from 11 botanicals, including vine leaf, and continuing with the new Castagner Bitter and Vermouth. Presented in the spring, the former expresses its origins through the infusion of radicchio di Treviso Igp, while the other, which uses Glera to infuse certain botanicals, is aged in cherry barrels used to age grappa.

Both complete the special collection which, produced entirely in the distillery, makes Castagner a prestigious Italian signature for mixing.
