As we get closer to unveiling The World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 , the newly released 51-100 list offers a sneak peek at some of the best spots to grab a cocktail. This extended ranking, featuring 12 new entries, pictures a global map of must-visit destinations, reflecting the constantly evolving landscape of the bar world.
Spotlight on the Americas
Once again, the U.S. shows its dominance with seven bars from four cities—New York, Miami, L.A., and San Francisco—making the cut. New York is still a cocktail hotspot, with Dante (No. 79) and Katana Kitten (No. 80) leading the charge.
But it’s not just the U.S. shining: Mexico makes a strong showing with five bars, including Arca (No. 55) in Tulum and Hanky Panky (No. 93) in Mexico City. Canada also claims its place with Bar Pompette (No. 70) from Toronto. But don’t forget South America either, with Carnaval (No. 69) in Lima flying the flag for Peru’s vibrant cocktail scene.
Europe: The Heart of the Bar World
With 18 bars in the rankings, Europe proves why it’s a hub for bartending brilliance. The U.K. leads the pack with four bars, including fresh faces like Kwãnt Mayfair (No. 52) and Viajante87 (No. 99) in London. Italy’s scene is just as hot, with Freni e Frizioni (No. 53) in Rome and Camparino in Galleria (No. 92) in Milan. Meanwhile, L’Antiquario in Naples continues to wow at No. 78.
Greece’s cocktail culture is also on the rise, with three bars in the list, including The Bar in Front of the Bar at No. 51, kicking off this year’s rankings.
Asia on the Rise on The World’s 50 Best Bars
Asia continues its ascent in the cocktail world, with 13 bars making the list. Singapore leads with three bars, including newcomer Cat Bite Club (No. 56) and Night Hawk (No. 74). Hong Kong impresses too, with Argo (No. 58) and new entry The Savory Project (No. 82). Bangkok, Tokyo, and Seoul all feature prominently, showing the region’s strength in both creativity and design.
What’s Happening in Africa, the Middle East, and Oceania?
Africa’s bar scene is gaining traction, with Hero Bar (No. 75) in Nairobi and Sin + Tax (No. 81) in Johannesburg climbing 13 spots, proving the continent’s potential as a future powerhouse. In the Middle East, Dubai’s LPM makes a splash at No. 76, while Oceania celebrates the return of two Aussie bars: Cantina OK! (No. 96) in Sydney and Above Board (No. 100) in Melbourne.
